    2016's Hardest effort/best SS ride's for "March"

It took awhile but it looks like some you's guys are gonna play after all! Today's ride ... another failed try to get on my own sub 20/40 thread. Please one of you SS'ers get over there and show me how its done? 21:35 to the tree with a defeated pair of 10:04's to the hairpin. Sub 18lb SS and I still can't make it ... but I will keep trying! http://forums.mtbr.com/california-no...ad-993503.html This one or the Dogmeat no dab challenge can be fairly difficult for some SSers. http://forums.mtbr.com/california-no...ns-993521.html I'm in on the Dogmeat deal ... who's next? Edit: If anyone makes either one of these challenge threads in 2016 on a single speed "please post it up" on the respective thread even if its after the March 31st deadline to make this years lists.

March is going to be wet they say. Good for single speeds!

I doubt if I will even try let alone clean Dog Meat. It would be good to get a lower gear than I have. But hero dirt will be available at some point.

For me March looks like a month of after work rides and only a few bigger efforts on the weekends. Late April is where I am anticipating some big rides.

Nice bike you have there! Looks a lot like my Lynskey. The upper Priest Rock trail is even more than usual a real chopped up mess this year. Only a very small handful of folks try climbing Dogmeat with a SS. It's almost in our backyard so we hit it regularly. 2016's Hardest effort/best SS ride's for "March"-fullsizerender-243.jpg The easy geared ss and a geared bike is nice to have in the stable for sure.

Prolly the winner but 13 days to go for March ... This one reminds of a big ride I did in 2011. My birthday is the end of April. https://forums.mtbr.com/california-n...de-698167.html

This will probably be one of my longest training rides leading up to the 106 mile Chino Valley Grinder the first weekend in May. Some of the worst washboard miles I've ever experienced but the legs still felt surprisingly frisky on the last few rolling hills. Fueled off two gels with caffeine, two fig bars, one clif bar, one dos equis lager, and a large pepsi.

Riding 39-18 SS meant the gradual climb on the way back really packed a wallop.

Last day of winter in Coe

Did a long pleasure single speed in 35x22 over 40 miles and 7k of climbing feet yesterday.

The flowers up on Wilson Peak are incredible right now.

This was the most beautiful ride of March for me yet. I missed out on the last couple of weekends for riding, so this was very special and sweet for me.

    Another big ride

^ ^ ^ Nice one! You guys got me all big ride fired up! I'm still trying to clean up challenge season on the Lynskey for the next 11 days. I'm hoping to do a big SS ride before the end of April.
