    2011 Norco Judan 29er Belt Drive--Worth It?

    Thanks for your time.

I'm considering picking this (https://albuquerque.craigslist.org/b...232747373.html) up, and am curious about the belt drive.

Is there still a decent following for belt drives? What are the pitfalls about purchasing a used belt drive that's almost 7 years old?

Is $280 a decent asking price or is my money better spent elsewhere?

Note: the tires are flat in the pics, which are objectively poor pics, but the seller has stated that he'll replace tubes and make it ready to ride when we meet up.

    Thanks again guys!

Looks like a decent deal, I'd certainly go check it out and if it seems solid and seller doesn't seem shady that price seems reasonable.

Wheels are from a Specialized, fork looks like a Surly (possibly Pugsley) 135mm symmetrical fork (can see the additional bosses on the sides). Would be helpful if you ever wanted to run a fat front wheel, if it indeed is one.

I wouldn't hesitate at all on the belt drive, in fact I wish I could easily convert my old steel Rockhopper to one!

    Thanks.

If I don't end up enjoying it as much as I'm *hoping* I will, what do you imagine re-sale on this thing will be? Can I hope to get my money back, or is it priced at about what it should be and I should expect to break even maybe lose a bit?

I really think that seems reasonable, maybe try to get it for $250 with cash in hand. Guessing that's why he went up a bit from there knowing it would get bargained down.

But it's reasonable enough that I think you should feel comfortable with the seller that it isn't hot...
