When planning out my build I noticed that there weren't many people who had built up an XTC as a singlespeed. Here is my bike that I just finished building up:

Parts/Components:
  • Frame: Giant XTC 29 Composite
  • Brakes: XTR incl. rotors
  • Handlebar & Stem: Easton Haven
  • Fork: Fox 32 FLOAT 29 100 FIT CTD w/Trail Adjust
  • Seatpost: Easton EC70
  • Wheelset: Stan's Arch rims with Chris King Hubs
  • Crankset: XX1 w/ XX1 chain
  • Rear Cog and Spacers: Surly
  • Chain Tensioner: Yess Pro ERT/D

I can upload more and/or higher resolution pictures if requested.

Good choice on the Yess tensioner. I used a Yess on an XTC last year and it worked great. I updated my frame a bit this year to XTC Advanced SL, but I'll still use the Yess for some single speed races.

quick question: I see you are using an XX1 chain...do you have to use an XX1 chain with the XX1 chainring? Or would any other "normal" 10-speed or SS chain work also?
