I just picked up a TLD D3 helmet and realized it was composite, not carbon as I had thought they all were. Is the composite D3 really much different than the carbon version? Would I even notice the difference?
Yeah that's what I figured. I just wonder if it is a significant difference. They were very close in price. Just wondering if I'll regret not getting the carbon or if it's so small a difference that I'd never actually notice it.
I have a Composite D2, and recently just bought a Carbon D3, and I can't tell the difference in weights when wearing them. (even one right after another).
It looks like there are only 100-200 grams difference between the two, which doesn't seem like a lot. I guess either way, it's still lighter than the helmet I've been running. Thanks man.
100-200 grams is nothing when you put the helmet on for just a few minutes. However, wearing it for a very long ride can make you see the weight difference...
