I really dont like the colorway on my 2012 Demo so I was thinking about using some spray on plastidip to give it a matte black finish that can be removed if it looks bad.
I've used it on sections of my car (roof rack fairing and grille) and it looks perfect. Take your time when applying it and it should look great. However, I'm not sure how it will hold up to scuffs and scratches.
I've employed plastidip on my truck (branding, wheels and step rails). I've been pleasantly surprised how well it has held up, especially on the step rails, given that my kids don't exactly use the foot pads. It is super easy to work with, start off light. It will probably be difficult to get to the nooks/crannies.
Have you considered vinyl wrap instead? It would be a bit more expensive, but easier to get it consistent.
Plastidip presents a tackier surface than paint or ano. Washing dirt off is a bit harder.
