New? Used? Prices? "better purchase" is a very subjective term and you're going to have fanbois from both sides telling you why their choice was the best.
Yes, we need more information. If they are both brand new bikes, I personally like the Glory more. I think it has a better rear suspension design. If they aren't new, tell us what year they are, what components they have, etc.
Two different bikes with different intentions.
Status - more FR oriented. Steeper HA (64.5*), Shorter chainstays (16.7)
Glory - more DH/WC oriented. Slacker (63.5*), longer chainstays (17.5) for more stability
Thanks for the reply . . . . The option is a 2014 Status II or a barely used 2013 Glory with a Fox 40 on the front. The purpose is bike parks, Whistle and similar. Which bike is better suited for the bike park scene?
Is this a G0 or G2? Huge spec and MSRP difference.
I tried out the G2, Status 2 and Demo 1. For the money, I ended up liking a used G2 best. However, at my dh skill level, the components made a bigger difference than the frame geo. My G2 had been upgraded to Zee brakes and drivetrain. I'm not a huge fan of the Boxxer RC. So, the 40 on the G2 might make your decision easy.
