I've been using Skidmap.com for the trails here in Utah. Very nice site! I'm starting to think my trip to europe next summer might be a bit too ambitious. The wife and I are looking into changing it to a trip to Whistler/NS, and I was wondering if any online trail maps exist for that area. I'd like to be able to plan out the trip so I can save some of that precious gas money. If not, what areas/towns/cities are the must-ride trails located near? Thanks very much in advance.
Nope - there's an iphone app for the maps. Guide book and map is paper. If you stay around Squamish/N.Vancouver/Abbotsford you can probably get 2 - 3 weeks of riding in without even touching Whistler. Add another two weeks for Whistler/Pemberton. Of course a lot depends on whether you are just shuttling (limited) or have pedally bikes (the most options).
Thanks very much Lee. Very appreciated. This will be my first biking trip into the great white north, so I'll probably only have a week (possibly 2 weeks tops) to get a taste of the riding. I'll poke around the western canada forum for more info
Fromme and Seymore have plenty of biking for 2 weeks, and you have the bonus of Vancouver which is an awesome city.
But if you ride Whistler for a week, you will get 2 months worth of North Shore riding in that week, and you will become a way better rider just because of the sheer number of miles of riding you will do. But bring the big bike if you're going to whistler.
By far the most up-to-date and complete trail maps of the region.
