What you may think is a lump of scar tissue, may actually be a sac of fluid.. that you aren't supposed to **** with...
I was at my 2nd cousins wedding, right before the ceremony began I was massaging my elbow cause I bruised it a week ago or so.. sat through the ceremony which was short and sweet, everyone standing up to head to the reception area...
and yeah, something felt wrong.. rolled up my sleeve and holy shat... vacated the wedding to head to the ER...
I ended up going back to the wedding afterwards for a little, but it seems I have put myself out of bike commission for at least a week.. g damn it, i wasn't even riding and i manage to eff myself up!
So anyways, moral of the story: let your body do it's thing naturally! :madman: was supposed to be at NorthStar today!! aghhh.
Bursitis ... no drainage. I "RICE"d (rest, ice, compression, elevation) the crap out of last night and it's already significantly less swollen..
I'm going to avoid getting it drained, I don't want to risk the chance of infection.. going to Cabo in 2 weeks, don't need a one-way tract into my system swimming in that water.
I should be fine, but just a pain in the ass... unnecessary time off the bike.
it'd be one thing if i had a cool story about mashing through some rock canyon gnar gapping some 60 footer or something.. but nope, just sitting down, being a dumbass.
I would have drained it with a needle....very quick...then take a few anti-bionics and it would be good....it would seal by Cabo time...have fun...Going to Barcelo resort in August
Ustemuf, I actually had the same issue with my knee last year. Except my ENTIRE knee cap and surrounding area were swelled up.
If this persists for a few days, I'd seriously consider asking the doctor to drain it. I had mine drained because there was way to much pressure around my joints. It helped a TON.
Had the same thing (bursitis) and asked the Dr. what to do. He told me to wait it out and do not puncture it - the swelling will go down. If do a DIY drain, likely you will infect it and have real issues.
It looks strange, I know, but just let it heal on its own
Speedy recovery and good luck!

I had the same thing and got it drained{3 full syringes of fluid taken out}, by the time I got outside it was already the same size again....didn't bother going back as I didn't want the cortezone injection
It's a simple and common injury really. Your bursa sack contains fluids that make your tissues gluide smoothly, you pissed it off. The elbow is easy, the shoulder is not. My shoulder bursitis locked up my shoulder and was pinching nerves the entire time, not cool.
