I am travelling to Argentina and cannot bring my bike on the budget airline. I will be staying for several months (probably cordoba) and would like to buy a bike there. Does anyone have information on prices and quality? I prefer a road bike but would settle for anything that will survive 2-3 hr type rides. I would also be willing to buy something new if I could sell it before i left. I'm planning to bring my shoes, pedals, and helmet.
You will have no problem buying a bike there, but if you want an American brand, you will pay more because of Argentina's ridiculous import duties. Cordoba is a great town, it's not glamorous like Buenos Aires, but it's a university town so it has great nightlife and things to do.
