I was out for a ride in the desert by Cave Creek when a I heard a hawk give out a call. Sorry about the wind. Best part is 0:59 when the hawk flies almost in front of the moon, the wind clears and it lets out its loudest call.
I don't think it was too happy about my presence, so I carried on when it landed.
Things like this are the moments that I enjoy the most on a long ride.....they pretty much make the ride for me....most of which never get pictured, never get explained....they just form the experience.
I rode K Trail Tuesday and saw a huge mature Red Tail that landed in a tree right by me. I come from N Cal and they are common but not so much here. Wednesday the wife and I rode the canals and by the Chandler airport they have burrows and perches set up for owls. There were several of them out which I had not seen there before. In fact I wondered what the heck those perches and rock piles were for now I know. Like someone said "birds of prey are cool"
I went back to the same spot and found the same Hawk there today.
Had to stop for that.
