What is the difference between these two forks? I've seen lots of complaints on the SL, lack of plushness. I've got $500 - $600 to spend on a do-it all freeride fork, 6 inch pref. I can spend more if needed, but have other set-up issues $$ to deal with on my new ride. Any suggestions are appreciated. I do moderate freeride drops and some trail riding. thx.

...easy...

1 is air (FR SL), 1 is coil (FR)
1 is lighter (FR SL) than the other 1 (FR)
Both are plush - set-up issues are a matter of tuning (experience/reading the manual)
Same damping.

So....

If you want to save some weight and have the patience/interest for an air fork, get the SL.
If you want less set-up hassle and can live with the weight penalty, get the FR.

However, you have not indicated your weight. For the SL, this is not necessarily an issue.
For the FR, you might need a spring change, depends on your weight.
