Since I have decided to sell one of my two bikes..I will sell the Kona Stinky and keep the Heckler..but I would like to set it up more FR.Now I have a 125 Vanilla and I would like to put the new Marzocchi Z1 150 mm with 20 axle instead.Do you think that geometry will be too tall for this bike?I have also seen good offers on 2004 Sherman Fireflies with both Qr or 20 axle..but they are 130mm forks..although they are anyway stronger than my Vanilla. Also with Marzocchis or Shermans I can use bigger front stoppers..since for the 2004 Vanilla the max front rotor diameter is 160mm.
In short...A 130 mm Firefly..(good price also)..or a 2005 Marzocchi Z1 with a 150mm Travel?...Bye

I am running the 04 firefly 20mm thru axle with a stiff spring on my Heckler. It is stiff enough for big drops. Dont let the 130mm of travel scare you. It goes down to 4" which is a plus for climbing. I have only been off of 3-5 footers with it so far, but the shock did not bottom and I weigh 210lbs.
Just swapped from a 130mm Z1 to a 140mm Pike on my heckler. Both combinations feel real nice. I don't think the climbing would really benefit from the taller axle-crown distance of the 150mm 20mm marzocchi, but with ETA it really is negated. It is really hard to be dissapointed with marzocchi Z1s though, I say go for it. I take marzocchi over manitou any day.
The firefly will have 6" for 05. I still dont think the 130mm 04 would give you any problems. I know that If start to bottom mine it means that I am going to big for what a Heckler is intended for and things will start to break. I think the sherman line is pretty light for a freeride fork as well.
SPV Evolve, can switch between 5" and 6" travel settings with RTWD knob, one full pound lighter than the Z150, and a superior chassis that steers better through choppy shyte.
yeah, I've ridden the Z150 and the Z1FR QR20 as well as Super T Pro and 888R. I would choose the Firefly Plus again and again.

the 5" firefly was 5.4lbs, I assume the 150mm firefly is a bit heavier due to increased spring length, oil volume, and extended damper rods.
The Z150 is not light, but the Z150SL is lighter than a firefly (which is manitous "lightweight" 150mm fork). The 05 Z1 is 150mm and has a target weight of 5.1lbs.
Unlike 3-4 years ago, marzocchis weights in the last few years have been very close to their claimed.
Not that the firefly is bad, but more options never hurts.
