I just bought a new marzocchi Jr. T. It comes w/ the integrated handle bar clamp. Should i take this off and use a stem so i dont have to cut so much off the steerer tube? Is the bar clamp good? Also how hard is it to replece the steerer tube if i decided to cut it and then changed my mind and wanted to run a stem instead.
Thanks
Leave a good inch and a half of steerer tube above the crown if you decide to use the Integrated stem, and just put some spacers on it, that way if you decide to run a normal one then you still have that option.
I agree with both of these BB members. I went from using a separate stem to an integrated stem, and I prefer the integrated stem WAAAYYYYYYYYY more. However, I've kept about an inch and a quarter above the stem so that if I ever want to sell the forks I may have more buyers.
Word. It does feel way better.
But I've got the same steerer tube cutting phobia. But, as soon as I file down these damn spacers to fit it's going down.
yea I was thinking about putting spacers on there and then realised that they do not fit. Has anyone else tried filing down spacers so they can fit. Also does any one know about replacing the steerer tube? If it can be done for under $50 i would just not worry about it?

Go ahead and file 'em. I am. I never thought about them being different sizes either.
Not sure about the cost of pressing a new tube. Probably not cheap though.
This is weird. I've NEVER had this problem, and I've done a lot of current jr/super installs. I guess we've alwasys had the same brand of spacer at the shop so it never came up.
i had a monster t steerer swapped from one crown to another. went to my local MC shop and has it done for $5....... (but, nowadays marzocchi won't just send you a steerer tube, you have to have them press it in if you buy from them. but if you have access to another steerer, any MC shop will do it for you for cheap......)
