I have an 03 specialized HR sport and I was wondering if it was possible to take most of the components off of it and put them on a FS freeride frame? The reason I want to do this is because I dont have too much money to spend. The frame I was looking at is the KHS FR1500 cuz its pretty cheap. Maybe I should just sell my bike and get a new one. Please help me out guys.

I hope you dressed cool, cause your gonna get a lot of heat for wanting a Fr1500. Thats besides the point.
Yes...you can take your componets off of your HR, and bring it to the new frame. Mind you I dont know the specs, so things like seat post, front derr., BB might not make the transfer.
There are a few options you can look into.
#1 selling the HR and putting the cash to a new FR rig.
--------Buying a HT would get you more for your money when it comes to quality.
--------------It would not be able to dish out the same stuff a FS might take.
---------------------Then again....a cheaper FS rig might break when taking stuff a quality HT might find playful.
#2 transferring the parts over..
--------With that spec list, you may want to reconsider.
When I say freerideable, im pushing the limits of reliable and constant componets. At the beginning threshold of the FR market, your looking at three to four times the cost of your current bike.
If you have any other questions or comments ill be more then willing to help you.
Thanks for the advice Gramatica. I dont really want to get a KHS frame but I am on a pretty limited budget. I can spend about 600$ total on a new bike after I sell my Hardrock. I might be interested in a p.2 but I still want a bike that can take drops. I am pretty much looking for a used bike so I have been checking ebay and mtbr classifieds.

Well, good luck. Make sure you are confident in buying used. $600 bucks can get you places if you take your time, and know what your buying. Buy smart, and have a great time.
