hey,
caught these up at mammoth nationals. The rims, brakes, rear shock, chainguide and a bunch of other shoit are not stock......this is "built up heavy at 42 pounds" (the fox guy, conversation #1) yes u heard right, built up heavy at 42 pounds. Supposed to be 38 pounds stock with 33-35 pound builds easily possible. Drool.
so prettay so prettay. definatly room to shave some weight there, it looks way sweet.
that with 823 wheels
tubeless with 2.2 michys
hozerfellers
and an evil guide, would be the pimpest of the pimp

I dunno, I think the way it is is just about as pimp as you can get it. Saint cranks, Eight track wheels, DHX5, DH40, maybe just put some Juicy7s on it and an evil guide

First the sunday, and now the M1.....your starting to sound like me and my indecision. The M1 and the sunday are sick rides. Your bullet better be GnarSick.

maybe i misinterpreted??
If the frame is 9lbs, maybe...but then it'd be built like an aluminum can with all those tubes. I'll find out next weekend at interbike probably, but 38 is pretty optomistic for any bike that's intended for DH with DH parts, if that's what it comes with stock.

Wow, I am a flipin moron. 1 million apologies. I just had some sugery...and im on some bichin pain killers.....so all I do all day is sit on these fourms and misinterprit posts.
hey,
In respect for specialized so u smart ones don't rip on a killer bike THIS IS NOT A STOCK BIKE it is also WAY HEAVIER THAN A STOCK BIKE. Stock bike == the rims weigh around 560 g(mavic EX721), the spring on the shock is titanium, hayes magnesium disc brakes, holzfeller cranks ect. All lightweight but super tough and well known gear. killer bike.

Damn, your a complete moron. Do you seriously believe the stock bike is going to weigh 38lbs? How about you stop the interent speculation and keep the weights uheard of until you see one on a scale. I also dont give a damn want some Special Ed mechanic said in terms of weight. Hes probably lieing out his ass to the average citizens.
theSherpa,
No i don't believe a stock bike will be around 38 lbs, I KNOW. Do you have a life outside of your computer Sherpa? Or are the only two tricks you can do in this world sitting on your ass or your bike? Way to waste your life man.

I have a hard time believing that the demo 8 is that light. The 05' specialized catalog claims it to be 1.5 lbs lighter then the demo 9! Most demo 9's i have heard about are mid to high 40 lb range. Subtract 1.5 lbs plus a couple lbs for the fox fork and .5 lb for ti spring you have approx 4 lb savings. Assume you have a 47 lb demo 9 minus 4 lbs you have a 43 lb demo 8. 38 lbs seems very optimistic!!

Thats still with some beefy heavy components, its very easy to drop a lot of weight if you go down to parts that are more suited to racing as far as weight but they may not hold up as long as the beefier ones.
