So I buy my buds 5th Element for my M1 that had been "rebuilt" and assured be "good as new" and it lasts one season before I blew it up today (TG it was the LAST day at Ski Bowl so area lift-assist runs are done). I love the feel of the 5th but I don't need to be sending in my shock every few months to get rebuilt (Progressive has a bad rep for this). Luckily I still have my Fox Vanilla RC (that was going to be for sale). I've NEVER blown a Fox product (well, okay doing magazine air on my snowmobile) so was thinking of getting that PUSHED. Anyone do that? I've heard good things about the air version but was wondering about the coil conversions, ride, and durability? Also the guy I was riding with today was using a remote reservoir Avalanche and he swears by it. Any feedback there?
Avalanche is the way to go. You still have to send it back to Craig once a year for service and it'll come back like new. I've got an Eliminator that the was ok w/ the fox coil but the Avy made it a whole new bike.I've got no experience w/ a 5th Element so i cant help u there. The feel of the Avy is like no other. It cost a little more but worth it.
Nothing but great reviews from push. many riders in the area swear by them. They look for old shocks on the internet then get them "pushed". Darren will customize it for your weight, riding ability, riding style, and pedaling platform if you like.
i have heard great things about avalanche and PUSH. pushing a shock is fairly inexpensive too. if you already have it i say push your rc or whatever. if you want a great shock with great customer service that will never be gone for months, get an avalanche. but you do pay more for the avalanche. a lot more$$$$$.
