Thanks to a great group the B+ ride ended with no serious injuries and I personally enjoyed the ride very much. The ride covered very differing terrain and hopefully the group enjoyed a high percentage of the thirteen trails we rode.
I am curious how the ride could have been improved and if any of the riders who did the ride could chime in and give their two cents on how the ride could be improved I would be interested in their comments.
Thanks to Chad for organizing the event and Jimmy for beer and grub.
Let me know if any of the people who enjoyed the ride want to try out some of the other special loops that we get to enjoy in Sedona.

hey Doc you beat me to the keyboard...thanks for a grand tour, good company, and being an excellent ride leader. Personally, I enjoyed the first half of the ride very much - it was like some of Hangover, maybe a bit less gnarly, but with its share to tough tech moves and exposure. Lots of fun!!! Hope everyone enjoyed my new lateral method of taking a bike down a big drop. The washes were fun, but after the more intense Hogs sections, I was happy when they transitioned into the flowing downhill (Templeton?). I like tech stuff over XC, so that was just personal preference -- it was fun seeing some of the different connectors and terrain, and your route gave us a great taste of everything with almost no "typical Sedona" loops.
Our group had about 15. A few Sedona locals: Bikedoc (Dean), Jamie, Wes, Heather. AZJeff, Helimech, Lostboyz, APB, Epicrider, Tae, James, Ron, Jacob and WYRider. Hope I got the names right and didnt forget anyone. nice group, fun. Personal highlight for me was rolling a ~5ft nearly vertical rockface that Dean showed us - after I got it, i nearly crapped my pants with the shakes. :eekster:
It was very cool running into just about every other group out there. Thanks Bike&Bean, and thanks for stocking 12" tubes so I did not have to goto Walmart.
Yeah, great stuff. Good memory Cball, I'm still trying to put names to faces. Great trails from way up high on the slickrock above Broken Arrow to down in the pines and sand below Cathedral Rock. Tell the truth, your sideways slither down that rock drop had some pucker going for a second, way to stay with it:thumbsup: Kinda evened out the slo-mo OTB dismount along the highway No mechanicals, only 2 flats, no injuries, nobody in over their skill level, good judgment at the hard bits.
After Traildoc got over being nervous about leading such a prominent group of AZ loonies and almost forgot how to ride he settled right into the leader role, stopping before any really tough spots for a description of the good line and a look. You don't find that in a tourbook. Props to Tae, a Philly guy now in St. George who took up mtbs after he moved. Good skills.
Hey Trail Doc: Thanks for showing me the finer points of Sedona riding/trails. When you're coming to BC let me know. One thing that pleases me about mountain biking is that there is such comaraderie, particularly with freeriders (thats really all I know about) and the "Sedona Ambassador" surely exemplified that with me----finding a wayward old Canuck on the steps and escorting me to Pig Heaven.
Its my turn; so if you come to Southern BC (when the snow clears!) let me know. darchoborne@hotmail.com
Cheers.

Good hearing from you. I took the group on the Pig ride you joined us on the first day we met. They had the same reaction that you did about how fun those trails are.
We ran into a number of hikers on the ride and they all seemed to be enjoying the different trails as much or more than we were. Good to see all user groups can enjoy a well laid out group of trails. With a group of fifteen or so riders, it sure cuts down on the user conflicts on the more congested rock jail trails.
I hope to ride with you some time in the future at 64 your riding ability is an inspiration. Once we get too old to ride those trails we can hike them and think back to the days we had so much fun riding them. Then when we die we can have a top secret spreading of our ashes on the trails we enjoyed so much, so we can watch other generations of riders and hikers enjoy them for hundreds of years to come
Thanks for the great tour! It was a perfect mix of a little bit of everything thrown in on that ride. Woulda loved to roll more red rock, but only cause I'm a slickrock whore. Can't wait to come back and try the other 5+ trails that are even better:thumbsup: Nice meeting the rest of you folks as well.
TD: ridnig with you in beautiful Sedona has led me to get the lead out and finish building "Scenic" trail here in Merritt.
will send pics when done. stiil a skiff of snow here this AM!
