???

Are you just planning on jumping it? What kind of jumps? Like big huge huck jumps, dh trail jumps, or jump park jumps? Maybe you should get a bit more of a flickable bike.

But from everyone that I've talked to that owns one, the M3 does just fine in the air. You might need a bit of speed to get it up there though.

It honestly depends on how you have your suspension setup and what jumps you're hitting. My Turner DHR sufficed fine over the summer at Northstar on Live Wire (A-Line clone). Steep lips are SKETCH though, ugh, I can't stress that enough.

Someone mentioned a Sunday jumps well? Coulda fooled me, every time I rode up to a lip on that thing I felt like I was riding a jump made out of pillows.

It may feel like that, but my brothers is set up for racing (pretty soft) and he jumps it...

You just have to watch out for rocks coming into the jump with the low BB!

An M-3 is designed to be a fast DH race bike meaning that it should, if set up properly, want to stay planted to the ground for traction purposes. Big DH style jumps will be fine since there are big DH style jumps in races. Jumps with steep lips will be sketch like Raptor said.

If you're doing A-Line stuff primarily an SS woul dbe a better choice. If you're getting a REALLY good deal on the M-3 ther is no harm trying it out and seeing if you like it.

Well every VPP bike I have ridden has jumped like sh*t, including an LBS employees m3. That however doesnt mean you "cant" jump it. It is just going to take a lot more practice to do it right. My friend has been riding a Vp free for over a year and he still doesnt have jumping completely down. The main problem is that the rear end on a VPP bike lengthens before it travels up.

I know a guy who sends it huge with his VP free at the jumps. I've never ridden it but judging from what I've seen it would be silly to say it's difficult to learn. He came off a Stinky to the VP free and never complained once about it's jumping manners. I think Calidownhillers buddy just practices ghost riding with him too much to learn how to actually ride.

Bottom line is that if you preload and have your rebound set slow then it will jump just fine. The geo on it and other DH race bikes, i.e. long wheelbase, slack HTA, make it feel weird on steep lipped jumps compared to a shorter steeper bike though. Could one get used to that feeling and jump with the best of 'em? Sure why not.

preloading the suspension is key, don't do it and you'll have a tendancy to pitch forward off of the steep lips.

At 6'0 I would say that you would probably prefer a large. I'm 5' 11" and I bought a medium. The bars felt like they were in my lap all the time, especially trying to sprint out of a corner. I ride a medium in all my other bikes but the M3 and V10 both needed to be a large.
There are plenty of M3's out there, try one and see what you think.

That's not a M3
this is a M3:

they do jump well, you must bump up you compression on the rear shock, if not it will buck you. like so....
