seriously though, i'm not one of those people that cares that much about appearances or weight. But if i'm spending almost 6 grand on a new bike, I'd like to try to make it a thing of beauty as well as a rugged, light, speed machine.
it seems like the king gold is much brighter than the gold ano on the saint stuff, although that could be all in the photography.
my planned build was full saint group (shifter, deraileiur, cranks, brakes) and king headset and hubs laced to 823's. The rest of the bike will be all black, so the only things that have color, they might as well match.
I'm with ya mate, when you spending that much money whats wrong with making it look good.
I tend to think people who get sh1tty about people caring about making there bike look good are pretty narrow minded in this day and age. 95% of bike parts work very well and are plenty adequate for the jobs they are intended for, therefore the consumers main buying criteria is aesthetics. If two products both work the same, one looks better, its a no-brainer. People who purposely shy away from good looking equipment have the problem and clearly care too much about what people think of them.
Aesthetics are a natural preference for human, deal with it.
that saint gold has more of a matte finsh
where the king stuff is pretty well polished.
the chris king gold is so loud/bright that if it matched exaclty it would be really heinous. yes looks are terribly important to me, I run sram derauilers/shifters so i could never pull off this look
It matches very well. Yes it is more of matte finish but still looks great. Sorry these are the best pictures I have.
