So what do you guys think about using these bars for DH/FR, they say they are for DH but they are carbon fiber so i'm a little skeptical. i'm building up a new bike and these are super light so i'm wondering if i should pick up a pair
It is just about like anything else carbon fiber, there is no real danger to them in most cases, but some people will refuse to run them out of principle. If you are comfortable with carbon fiber, go for it, but if you buy them and you won't be able to trust them, your riding will suffer.
The Monkeylite DH's are great bars and plenty strong. But if you are worried maybe you'd prefer the Easton Havoc. They're made of EA70 aluminum and not much heavier. The regular EA70 bar is also a great choice if you like 685mm wide bars (prefect width for all-around trail riding IMO.)
The monkey lites are made with the carbon nano tubes so they are much stronger and more crush resistant than other carbon bars.
