This post may get a bit long winded, but I'm new to this, and I'm building a bike:
Ive started with a UMF Freddy 1 with a marzocchi 66 rcv,
The next thing that I want to get is a crankset... which leads to a few questions :D
Do I need a chain guide (what does it do)? Bashguards... compatibility and general explanation would be good...?
Thanks alot

A chainguide is basically something that keeps tension on your chain, keeping it from jumping off.
Bashguards "generally" replace your big ring on the crank. It's usually high impact plastic, lexan or machined aluminium. You need to know what your cranks BCD is (bolt circle diameter) and get one that matches. There are some that also fit over all 3 rings.
