So ive been hearing about all this nutrition energy workout helper stuff, and my question is, does it actally work/help or is it just the suggerpill thing? Also, is it unhelthy? i hear lots of this stuff is just suger and caffine ,but this stuff looks good. Ive read reviews on it and apperintly itworks, but i dunno... here are the links
I wanna get the Hammer Race Caps Supreme, HEED - Sport Drink, and Anti-Fatigue Caps
I don't support the consumption of chemicals during, before or after a workout. Water is best bet since assuming the rule that what goes up comes down, energy drinks are not looking healthy. But on the bright side, if it's healthy then then only thing you suffer is a crash so it's up to you.
I do not speak from experience, just observation.
Chocolate milk=best post workout drink. Now I don't know about those products, but my question is do you really need it? I wouldn't mess with it unless planning on seriously racing. For me thats because of the cost.

Check out the list of ingredients in this product. Name: Nature's Plus Source of Life Energy Shake. I blend it in fruit juice & spring water with a banana and a spoonful of organic cocoa powder. ...Then later on, have yourself a soul food dinner. (Baked chicken, collard greens with smoked turkey wings, macaroni and cheese and cornbread.---and your favorite beverage! ---zarr
grapefruit juice and a grilled sandwich of choice before the ride (i go with turkey and provolone on a sweet roll), nature valley granola bar and water on the ride, breyer's all natural vanilla ice cream after. guarantees a win every time with no crash, or strange side effects. Although the chicken/collards/turkey/mac/cornbread sounds promising... are those collards with garlic, and is the mac a casserole?

Yes Sir, my brother. If you want to hook those greens up with garlic, certainly be my guest!! ...And casserole that mac & cheese too. ...But don't forget to check out that energy shake I mentioned. It really is some good stuff. I know of no energy shake that comes anywhere close to it. (Read the list of ingredients & look at the percentage of the nutrients). Do yourself a favor and try it...
Water or maybe the big "ade" drinks will do. They drink this stuff in the NFL,NBA,MLB, monster truck pulls and all the rest. If highly tuned athletes drink it while in competition it will do for you and me as well. Plus, its cheaper.
I'd stick with water/gatorade/powerade on the trail. I'll do a soy protein shake afterwards once I arrive back home. Sometimes I'll do a shake before and a shake after. Otherwise, unless you are really training for something super competitive, I'd still with the basics. Get a good load of carbs/protein beforehand to burn for energy, use adequate water/ade and possibly a snack on the trail should you need one.
And get enough potassium to offset any minor cramps!
