Got into a car accident, some brain bleeding thing, and spinal bulges / compressions... It's been way too long (6+ mos.) and I'd really love to get back on the bike. Doc says perhaps another year. That sucks!!!
Thanks everyone. I really appreciate that. Truth is I haven't visited this forum in a while since it depresses me - not being able to ride and all - but hey, life goes on. I'll know in a few days if I'll need spinal surgery and, if I do, I probably won't do it. I don't handle knives too well. So I'm just hoping I won't need it. I'll be dropping by this forum every now and then since this is the closest I'd get to biking - for now. Doc says I can get back on the saddle but it'll take some time.
Dang, sounds like you got pretty dinged up Nikon, sorry to hear that. Good luck w/ the docs, if you're looking for some healing inspiration dig up some of Trailadvent's posts, he's been off the bike for awhile with some injuries and been keeping pretty positive considering from what I read here. The bike(s) will be there waiting for ya.
I know how it feels brother. Just now getting around on my on two feet after a wreck 6 mos. ago. Youll be back and rolling before ya know it-just stay positive. If you have to have surgery-do it and you will recover quicker.
Man, Injuries are the worst. The older we get the more they take a toll. Here's to a full recovery and many more miles of grinding pleasure! Cars suck!
POCH!! I didn't know till now... hope you get well.. will call you tomorrow... bro, will pray for speedy healing... be well ...
airwreck, no dw bikes this side of the world yet... will post pics as soon as the 1st one comes in... everyone here wants to buy one already but only one issue stopping most from placing an order -- PRICE!! The conversion of US$2,495 for the Spot to Philippine peso is a lot to pay for, for a frame over here!! With the crunch going on ... well -- WHEW!! we shall see... cheers airwreck...
Back in 2005 I rolled my truck 3 times that I remember anyway and came out of it with a nice list of injuries, so let me be the first to welcome you to a club that no one wants to be a member of the "I was almost dead" club. I am glad to hear that you made it, if you ever need to talk hit me up.
