So is it true that you can put a larger size tube in smaller size tire. I got new tires today and they are 26x 2.1 and they gave me a tube that is 26x2.25-2.5 . They said it would be fine which is great buy why even make different size tube if that is case. Why not make 1 general size tube that fits all if that is the case
tubes stretch to some degree which is why they have a range of sizes that one tube will fit. however, you can't make one generic tube, as tires commonly range from 1.9 to 3.0 which is far more than a butyl tube will comfortably stretch.
as for your case, the larger tube should cram into the tire without any problems.
