Ok, I got to represent. Too many fantastic pictures of the trails in WV and not enough of the trails in MD. So here are a few from Patapsco. Managed to get my butt out of bed early enough this morning before the kiddos did and spent a couple of hours in the park.

I usually get in via the second swinging bridge at the end of the Grist Mill trail but today I tried the River Rd Trail on the other side of the river. Well, there was just too many felled trees to really ride this trail. But I did managed to get some nice pics of the river.

A slight mist over the edge of Bloedes Dam.

Hey Ed,

I'll bring my bike as well to swap out the pedals. I think I should be ok on the seat but just in case, I'll have my bike with me.

Thanks for giving me the chance to taste the "forbidden fruit" :D. Hope you are ok to ride tomorrow.

I'm heading back out to Patapsco in a few mins. Not on my bike this time. Bringing the kids to play in the Avalon area.

i agree, even tho im one of the guilty picture guys. I just assumed the reason for the lack of mtb porn from all the closer to suburbs trails was because of all the type-A riders that wouldnt dare stop to take a picture and add a minute or 2 to their ride time! :)

Haha, I'm definitely no type-A rider. I like to take time to smell the roses or in this case the trail vegetation. Besides, snapping a few pics is my excuse for stopping to catch my breath :).

Dude thanks for the sweet pictures of Patapsco. I used to live in Maryland, and spent 4 years of my life riding Avalon as often as I possibly could. I'm enjoying the high life in Colorado now, but I definitely miss that park and all the great ride options on both sides of the river. My in-laws just moved to a new place about 10 minutes from Patapsco. I'm thinking about buying a mid-range hardtail to keep in their garage for when I'm out there visiting. It sucks going back to Maryland and not having a bike to hit the trails with!

Where in Colorado do you live? I feel the same way about the trails on the Front Range near Fort Collins that you probably feel about Avalon :) I rode those trails for three years and I miss them like hell.
I live in Castle Rock now. There's some decent riding down here, including a new trail system that just opened up this summer right on the edge of my own neighborhood. It's a good 8 or 9 miles of fast, flowing single track with a few nice climbs thrown in. It's the first time I've ever been able to access great single track right from my own house. You've got a good point about the Fort Collins trails. I went to CSU and spent some quality pedal time up around Horsetooth and at Young's Gulch. That's where I first learned the fine art of mountain biking, then I had the pleasure of honing my skills at Avalon for 4 years. Good times!
