I'm in the market for a freeride bike to give some bigger stuff a try. I've been a XC guy for years but want to play on the big stuff now so I'm looking for a bike. The problem is I can't commit much money to it. Is there a good FR bike out there for someone on a budget. The most I could go is ~$1500 and would prefer full suspension.
Iron Horse 7points are going for stupid cheap these days.
Santa Cruz Bullits can always be had for super cheap.
Just keep your eyes peeled.
The last 2006 7point I saw for sale was only $1,100 with the 3-way 5th Element, 8" Hayes Nines, and Boxxer U-turn. Great bike for that amount of money. Especially with the DT Swiss wheels.
buying used will get you a much better bike than a haro x7. Complete seven points can be had for cheaper. The Haro is not a bad bike, it is a single pivot though. If you wish to have more pedaling efficiency go with something else. However haro has great customer service, just go to their board on this forum and you'll see
I'd go single pivot over multi. Less moving parts to were out and cause problems. Just find bikes that are in the price range, then go out an ride them and see what you like best.
my friend just bought a nice vp free with dhx and 66 for 1500. look on ebay for a bike
