The Gustav uses a different MC diameter than the Louise does. It'll effect the lever stroke because it changes the ratio/advantage. Not saying it won't work... just not as it should. Never was a fan of the Gustav lever anyways... it's gigantic.
Maguras can be finicky in setup or bleeding. But the performance is usually quite good. For 2008, they reshaped the caliper... I don't like it as much. I believe it was done to cut costs. I have not tried the 2008 model
I have been running Juicy brakes since 04/05. No issues. It all comes down to setup. I've had several sets myself, and set up dozens of others with the brakes, and they are using the brakes happily with no complaints.
