Hi. I just bought a new frame and my steer tube on my fork is just a tad short for it. I'm running a king headset and it has a fairly high stack height. I need help finding the lowest possible stack height headset for a standard 1 1/8 headtube. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help.
Kings are 28mm. So you'll get about 2mm with a lower headset. What about it dosn't work currently? Are you exceeding Thomson's recommendation for steerer insertion into the stem? If so, I wouldn't worry about it. If your top cap bolt isn't long enough to thread in well, get a longer bolt.

I had the same problem when I bought a Manitou Travis Single 150 from a buddy. The Raceface Diabolus stem I had was way too tall. Switched to a Dangerboy AK 47 and problem solved. Even had room for a 5mm spacer.
