i just got a 2004 DJ1 and i saw that you could extend the travel (from 110mm to 130mm). I just got it as a crash replacement and i thought it was 130mm of travel but it turned out to be 110mm. does anyone know what is involved in extending the travel or has anyone done it. the marzocchi website says that theres no kit for 2004 forks but it is possible to extend the travel. How do you extend the travel?
Well my bike is made for a 130mm travel fork so with the shorter fork it makes the angle of the fork a little too steep for how i like it. It was fairly steep with the 130mm fork i had before
My brother converted his old dj from 4-5 without the use of the extension kit. I dont remember how, but i know he took the whole thing apart and just took a spacer out apparently. I dont know if u wanna exactly go taking your fork apart, but thats wat he did and it worked haha
could you please ask your bro how he did it and give some more details.
thanks
