So I got a monocog to try single speed for cheap and then found myself building more of a DJ/Urban bike. I threw a Diety stem, Vanilla (at 100mm), and some platforms on there, lowered the seat and put some mech discs on it.
Any reason that this wouldn't make a good DJ bike. Geometry issues or anything?
Only thing I can think to change now is a stiffer spring in the Van.
I know but they are hosted on a site that I don't have access to from work. So you'll have to wait for the grand unveiling till after work. Don't go getting all excited, it's just a monocog.
I just noticed that there is a Urban/DJ/... forum so I'll post this in there.
Well you aren't using the Monocog fork, which tends to be a little weak. I ruined one after two urban rides. After that since you are a beginner and hopefully won't be going that big you should be fine. Just check for cracks before your rides.
The bike is pretty stock except BB5 calipers and rotors, oury lock on grips, the vanilla r fork (at 100mm), the racing ralph 2.4 tires, the custom "City Park Condom" bash guard, and the deity stem. Now that I think about it, I guess I've upgraded quite a bit.
I just ordered an IH Porter Pro frame kit so I'll have a real DJ bike now and convert the monocog back to XC.
i was gonna say,, have fun rackin the sack on the top tube..
