I just bought my slayer, and I have a question that I hope someone can answer.
I am getting a lot of creaking from the rear sus. mount points. I checked and made sure everything was tight. I threw some oil in the joints, but nothing is working. The creaking still exsists, and it's getting louder. What do I do???
the bushings don't like oil. flush them out and if you need to, use a teflon based lube like Tri-flo. only a drop.
try checking the bushings on the shock. add a drop of tri flow to them, they tend to wear out faster.
The seat post is fine, I checked everything I thought it was, and as I took it out for a ride I felt the rear shock and I could feel the creaks coming from where the shock mounts to the frame.
Then it's probably the bushings and reducers, get them changed out, I found using the steel reducers instead of the aluminum ones increases the longevity and stiffness. This is best done by a shop unless youv'e got the knowledge and the tools
