I was cleaning the racing bike and adding new cables and so forth. You know, getting her ready for the racing season and I weighed my Bontrager handlebar and stem. I've never liked Bontrager and now I REALLY don't like them. The stem is 300 or so grams and the bar is 400!
I guess everyone knows what my next purchase will be !
Ya, I was a bit surprised when I weighed my crowbar and it came in at close to 400g. But I still do like them. They make nice wheels and their lighter components are not that heavy.
I'm sorry, should I have said "their lighter components are not that heavy compared to those of other companies," cause I thought it was implied? Then again, I'm always being a smart@$$ about things like that so go ahead and make fun .
CHRO-bar. I just took one off my bike recently, although I was aware of how heavy it was. The thing is great for real agressive riding though, where you want to be able to "trust" your bar, and it shouldn't catastrophically fail either. All this and they are pretty cheap here for the comp model (by the weight it sounds like the same one).
