I had the older fox ones too and I had the same problem. Got a set of the newer ones with the criss cross straps and they stay perfect.
YES! I have tried so many dif pads due to my height and them shifting/falling. The 911/Launchg are the one and only immovables. I have put them through the ringer. They have no back protection for those afraid of calf scratches, and the straps are notrious for pulling out at the bottom - easily fixed by a shoerepairman/cobbler!!

Race Face(roach) rally - BAH - these things are mobile - ALL over the place. 661 Race are decent, RockGardns as well (the ones that look like hockey ppads)...

And 661 4x4's if you like hot bulky coverage (great for FR esp when its cool/cold)

Fox 911 Launch #1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fox 911 are great. They feel stable on the legs and really stay put all the time.

Others I tried:
Fox Standard - reasonable when you put on another strap to hold the knee pad on your knee
Dainese Pro Race - not stable, always crawled to the outside of the shins and knee
Dainese Freestyle - after one season the elastic straps deteriorated and and didn't hold anymore - result: pads all over my legs except where they sould be;)
661 Race Lite - a bit better than Dainese Freestyle, but similar problem with elastic straps (to a lesser extent)

Any recommendations for skinny leg people???? I've got super scrawny legs so I'm sure that contributes to the problem but I've got these Fox North Shore knee/shins and they are around my ankles faster than PeeWee Herman's pants in a porno theater.

My 17 year old is a bag of bones he is using the EVS with no problem. They dont slide around on him & when he crashes they stay put. :)

I really like my rockgarden's, the first 4 or 5 rides I wasn't too impressed because of how stiff they were. After the initial break in period the pads molded to my legs and now don't slip even after blasting through the baby heads or taking drops. Good quality and I'm a fan of the hard shell compaired to the soft tops.

T Bones

I trust my TLD T bone knee pads more than any knee and shin or other knee pads. They dont budge on my knee upon impact, and the light hard shell is enough to protect against rocks and roots. The slim fit is a plus too.

The only time a knee/shin is better is in really rocky conditions when rocks are getting tossed up. Getting hit in the shin by a large rock flung from your tire while you are hauling ass hurts like a mother!
