Greetings all. I am working with the local ski resort to hold a kamikaze style dh retro bike race (bikes before the year 2000). Along with that, I think it would be cool to hold a vintage mt bike show as well.
I have always been more of a seller and less a collector, so I know little about the vintage bike scene, other than the fact I have some old bikes gathering dust and they deserve to be ridden.
Are there organized bike shows on the west coast?
What classes usually exist at these bike shows, if they exist?
Is there typically a cash prize?
Does anyone want to race their vintage bike down a sketchy dirt road?
I started a thread here about the potential race, but it went a little off track:

Thanks to anyone who can pitch in some info.
