Slim Pickings in 26.6 Posts: Deore-XT?

Well, I need a longer seatpost for my new bike and it needs to be 26.6. Kalloy of course can rescue me and they sort of look like the vintage Ritchey that would have been OE on my PDG70. BUT it would be Kalloy and my bike is full XT. I thought I'd get the Kalloy and save for a Thomson but the Thomson 26.6 isn't available with the necessary setback.

So, I found a Shimano Deore-XT 26.6 X 330mm which would look so correct. The XT weighs 296g and I think the Kalloy is 315. Should I get the XT? I was surprised that it is a steel shaft with an alloy topper. A little flex could be a good thing, no?

Thanks. I'll do that when I get home. When I say 10mm to spare, I mean that I could raise the seat another 10mm and still not reach the Max line. This PDG70 is 18" and so is the Stumpjumper. I appreciate the feedback.
