Yes, I searched. I could not find an answer.
I have built up a canal/street cruiser from my old Rockhopper frame, and as opposed to making it a 1x something I have decided to make it SS but geared pretty steep. I have a 36t up front (can't go bigger) and currently a 16t out back. I would like to go to a 12 or 14, but not sure I can get enough wrap with my cheapie parts bin Forte tensioner. I am thinking I need a "push up" style, or a double wheel like an Alfine to get the wrap.
Does anyone have experience with this, or a best option (not including a SS specific frame, ebb, sliders etc.) to get maximum wrap. I know those are all the best options, but in this instance I am going to have to use a tensioner as much as I hate it. This is a beater to ride with my friend who is trying to get his fitness up prior to a kidney transplant, not my main bike or my first SS.
Here it is with the 16t. It's pressing down pretty hard now, and you can feel each tooth on the tensioner. Adding one more link makes it skip.
