Trying to find a frame that fits my pile of spare parts. I've got a decent list, but wondering if I've missed anything. Requirements are boost, threaded BB, fits 27.5+, compatible with a tapered rigid fork (490-ish A2C), $1000ish or less (so no custom, Ti, or carbon). 30.9 seatpost with internal dropper routing would be ideal, but not necessary.
The list so far:
Santa Cruz Chameleon
Vassago Jabberwocky (out of stock)
Vassago VerHauen (out of stock)
VooDoo Dambala
Spot Rocker
Canfield Nimble 9 (only one medium in stock)
RSD Sergeant/Middle Child (will it work rigid, or will BB be to low?, also too slack for what I want)
Soma valhallen might fit the bill pretty well. I think it is ideally designed around a longer travel fork, but those would sag in further, so it might be comprable. Could always run an external cup or +style crown race to help lift up a bit more
The Valhallen does not have any sort of built-in tensioner. An eccentric BB is an option, but that frame is probably not worth mentioning in the context of this forum.
Unfortunately, I seems like Boost is now the rule. If you have a 142 mm hub, it's useless because there are so few non-boost options. Spacer conversions are a sucky alternative to a hub and frame that work together.
Don’t forget the Pivot LES. That’s an awesome carbon boost frame that’s singlespeedable. Unfortunately the Santa Cruz is only boost in the geared configuration. The SS adaptors are 142mm only.
Esker Hayduke fits the bill except it is 31.6 mm seatpost.
