As many know the Pyramids trail is part of the Pyramids Epic Loop in the Cascades. The trail is brutally steep and gnarly due to lots of water erosion over the years. It's a hike a bike ascent and a technical, ball busting blast on the descent.

This short trail is arguably the most scenic trail along the loop, and it was closed to bikes at the end of last summer. I won't get into that part.

Groups have met with the USFS at the trail and there are some plans for rehab which will allow the trail to be opened to bikes again.

That rehab starts this coming monday at 10am. Adam Craig will be leading the charge - and SATA and Old Cascadia are both bring people and tools. Trans-Cascadia has been working behind the scenes to get this process going!

Meet at 10:00 am at the Lava Lake Meadow Road 2067, off Hwy 22 between milepost 76 and 77. Expect about 1.5 hour drive from Salem or Bend. People will caravan to the Pyramids trailhead from there. Please come equipped with food and water. The Forest Service requires volunteers to have hard hats (we have some loaners), boots, long pants AND LONG SLEEVES, eye protection and gloves. RSVP on Facebook with Salem Area Trail Alliance or Old Cascadia.
