Yes, and definitely the MUSA part. I like to consider myself loyal to that but sometimes the pocket book has different ideas. That said, I really am leaning toward the Chumba.
Living in central Texas as well, I see lots of Chumbas. Good folks, but I ride a Vassago because I like the longer reach. If you're considering a frame in that price range, go for something nicer like a Stella or Verhauen.
Personally I would go with the Juice, but it's my opinion that the Stella frame has nothing extra about it that justifies that insane price difference. If you have the extra coin floating around and like supporting USA companies that much then I say go for it.
I have had one Soma Juice, one Wolverine, and two Saga's.... so I like Soma's
I had the brownstone juice, not for terribly long because daughter came around and I needed bills to pay. I ran it geared only, but did get the paragon dropouts for thru-axle and I had no issue with it. 130mm fork, but it was better with 120mm and also ran it rigid.
My only complaint with it was that it did feel a little flexy in the back end, not terrible but I did notice it. At that time I was 170+ maybe 180, now that I'm back down under 150 I probably wouldn't notice it. The new Broski dropouts should be more stout than that last iteration of the dropouts and they have a sweet new battleship-ish grey colorway coming in soon.
Yeah, I got my Stella frame on closeout so it was a lot less than retail so I guess my POV is a bit skewed between the two frames.
