    PMBAR Raffle!!!!

Hey folks! Just a reminder that on May 3rd we are not only having a kick-ass race but also a raffle for the Asheville Humane Society. Tickets are 2 for $5 and all funds raised will go to help the homeless critters. We have generous sponsors this year contributing $1000's in prizes. Just a sample of what we've got to raffle away:

A 29er frame from SMOKE BIKES:

    A Wheelset (red/silver/black 26 or 29) from INDUSTY NINE

A custom stem (your choice of handlebar clamp/size/length/rise) from WALTWORKS

    A Manitou Minute 100 29er fork:

A White Bros. Rock Solid 29er fork:

    THOMSON stems and seatposts:

and believe it or not... MUCH MUCH MORE!!!!!!

So if you're racing please show up early enough to sign-in, go to gear-check, AND fill out raffle tickets. If you're not racing, come on by anyway, buy a ticket or 10!
You can please some people sometimes but you can't please all the people all the time.

Maybe if they keep watering it, it'll be a 29er by the time of the event!

I assumed Gertrude personally "hose" all the frames. Maybe you should have a "Hosed By_____" decal.

Now you're cast of steel and cast aside. Broken dreams maybe, but you haven't died

Great prizes and an even better cause! I'll be sure and bring plenty of cash - just don't plan on me picking up any prize I might win until well into the night

Here is a pic of my dog Duma at the top of Black the day I adopted him from the Asheville Humane Society:

When we first started up he was all like "boy, this is fun!" tail a waggin' not a care in the world... by the time we hit hickory knob he was starting to slow and was shooting me fleeting glances over his shoulder as the trail got steeper. the short downhill to pressley gap had him all happy again but once the climbing started again his "boy this is fun" attitude had switched to "are you F*cking kidding me?"... i'm sure there will be more than a few racers who experience similar emotions this weekend...

but really, everyone, enter this raffle. the money will make a difference to animals like Emma here who we took up to Mount Pisgah this afternoon. A crappy day for views and pictures but she was sure happy to be out of the shelter for the morning.... she is very sweet and is up for adoption...
