RS Monarch Plus RC3 rebound adjust knob very stiff and gritty feeling

My rebound knob on my Monarch Plus RC3 (2017) has become very stiff and is difficult to turn. When it does turn it's very gritty feeling and the dedents are not obvious.

Any way to easily fix this without having to empty and mess with the IFP?

No, you have to disassemble it completely

    Bummer. I suspected that.

Do you know how that knob is held in and what's behind it? I'm assuming it's some sort of spring and small ball bearing.

The service manual don't show that in the the exploded drawing.

You can access the adjuster without disassembly but you do need to release the ifp pressure. Just donít cycle the shock without pressure in it!

The knob has a 1.5mm screw holding it on, then you can unwind the part underneath that holds the detent balls

I am not at the bike at the moment but I don't remember seeing a grub screw on the knob. There was a screw on the opposite end on the same center axis as the knob. Is that the one I unscrew?

And just so I fully understand the process, with regards to relieving the pressure in the IFT, I just remove the small screw with a valve core tool at the bottom of the IFT chamber and press in the Schrader valve - correct? Filling is just a matter of screwing in the adapter and filling to 250psi then reinstalling the screw right? All the the while making sure not to cycle the shock or depress the end of the IFP.

No not the screw at the back, it is on the side of the red knob in the picture. You can kind of see it at the top.

Otherwise yes thats it, once you unscrew the part with the detent balls, clean it all up and apply grease to the threads as well as the balls and inside the assembly
