    RS Fork Oils

I am getting ready to rebuild my RS SID 2003 model.

My question is that the instructions say I need Judy Butter or Red Rum - are there any subsitutes to this?

It also says I need Rock Shox 5wt and 15wt oil. I have heard of people using motorcycle fork oil instead. Should I use motorcycle oil instead? Is it better/cheaper?

    Thanks.

Rock Shox used to use Torco RFF...but relabeled the weights. RS 5wt was Torco RFF 7wt and RS 15wt was Torco RFF 20wt. They recently switched to Maxima Oil and its the same weight for both (ie RS 5wt is Maxima 5wt)

Both Maxima and Torco are common at Motorcycle shops. For Red Rum substitute you can use Torco MPZ Assembly Lube...its thicker but works well

Yep, the engine assembly lube is what I'm talking about.
