ROCKSHOX SEKTOR SILVER Convert to coil

    Hi all
I have a ROCKSHOX SEKTOR SILVER RL 27.5 SOLO AIR 140mm which came on my Lapierre I want to go coil all round I got the rear sorted but I was wondering if it would be possible to convert the fork to coil rather than shell out for a new fork.... And for those who ask why do you want to do this.... Because I want to😜

I converted my revelation to coil using a sektor coil kit.

    Do it!

    Cheap, easy, good performance jump

Mtbr adds hyperlinks to get add revenue, they rarely go where you want.

    That's what I got.

Not familiar with the sektor, I only tend to know about the high-end forks.

However, I bought that spring, and screwed it in top and bottom.

Dual-position didn't work, but huge jump in performance.

As the Rev is a higher-end air fork, I'd guess your jump in performance should be bigger.
Why would I care about 150g of bike weight, I just ate 400g of cookies while reading this?

    Morning

Cheers for that but is it for a 26 or 27.5 as it doesn't say and I'm guessing it's a case of removing the lefthand air unit and wacking that in

You can still find mattocs under $300 brand new.

The coil is cool and all. I had a coil converted rev. It still spiked since that's a damper function. It was pretty close to $100 with shipping and all to get the DP coil. Then I had to buy a second one since the weight wasn't right.

Then I sold the whole fork and got something that worked right from the start.

It was totally my loss, I would strongly suggest not copying my loss!

It was as simple as that on mine.
    I ordered 29" extra soft.
Job was so quick I can't really remember the details!

One pivot has a valid point, it's not going to turn it in to a $1000 fork.
So if you are after a $k performance, it would be better starting with a better platform.

However if you were looking for a cheap upgrade with impressive results, this is it.

Sorry I can't give many details, did it a while ago and so simple nothing really stuck in my memory.

Remove air assembly. Grease up coil, stick in, simples.

It is reallg easy. You do need to pull the lowers and remove the air spring seal head. After that it drops straight in. Use lots of grease, and you can add more bath oil. 100% factory fit, so that part is nice.

But high speed, it'll still spike and be harsh since the damper chokes so bad.
