Resetting FOX DPS EVOL
Hi. I wanted set up my shock from scratch, do I need to do the "put some air in, cycle it, put air in, cycle it" thing like I see folks recommending for a fork? Thanks and any other set up advice is welcome.

Yes you should air up almost any shock this way
Start with your damping adjustments open and set air pressure first, then rebound. These are the most important ones so don't go crazy with the other settings until those are feeling good

You need to cycle it to balance the pressure in pos and neg chambers. If you put to much into just the pos, you won't be able to compress it enough to get it to equalize. The pos pressure will go down after you cycle it. I go in steps of 50-75 psi. Once you're at the pressure you want, cycle it a few times check the pressure again and pump as needed so that it's at what you want and the neg is fully equalized.
