New question here. rebuild Revelation vs new Pike

backstory: I ride a 2014 trek remedy 7 on fairly rough trails, and I've started hitting bigger and bigger jumps.

I recently blew the seals on my 140mm rockshox revelation fork, and I read in the manual that you can change the travel by replacing the entire solo air spring assembly. I could get 150mm out of the revelation fork...but there's a part of me that just wants to buy a 160mm Pike. The pike would be about $400 more than rebuilding the revelation.

If I rebuild the revelation will I keep blowing the seals?
Would buying the pike be worth it?

What seal failed? You shouldnt have seal failures on a 1 year old fork. A rev rebuild kit is about 20 bucks though, so thats a pretty huge price gap.

You'd be doing yourself a disservice to not consider a mattoc too! I think you have to ask yourself if you want to be climbing around on a taller fork, it is harder.

The very top one? on the air side. I'm pretty new to messing around with forks

The mattoc looks like a great fork, but i ride 29er wheels.

If I was going to get the pike i'd get a travel adjust fork, because I spend most of the ride climbing.

If you have the budget then do what you obviously want and get the PIKE. But the Revy is a great fork and with a quick rebuild and new seals (kits are cheap) you should be good. I did the travel adjustment and new oil in mine and literally took me maybe 30-45 minutes and that is with installing the dual air rod backwards and having to take apart and reassemble.
