Pike Coil - Bent Spring Assembly?

I was cleaning the lowers on my Wifes coil Pike. I notice the rod leaving the stantion which would be attached to the spring comes out at an angle. When I put the lowers back on the rod did not line up with the holes in the lower and I had to move it over to replace the bolt. It moved with no problem and the fork feels fine.

Is this normal? Or is it possible something is bent?

nothing is bent; what you are seeing is normal. The spring, due to the wind-down mechanism, fits loosely on the shaft assembly, and it has a lot of wiggle-room. You have no worries here.

I've had a few now with a kink in the middle. It annoyed me at first just knowing it was bent in there, but as long as you really grease the coil up it doesn't seem to cause any issues.
