New question here. Need Advice: Rockshox XC32 TK 100mm Vs Rockshox SL TORA 100mm

    Hi,

    NEWBIE QUESTION..

I am in the process of upgrading the suspension on my Bergamont vitox 7.3. Currently its having a Suntour XCT MLO 100mm Fork. The only two forks available with my LBS right now are the XC32 TK and the SL TORA. I have the following doubts before upgrading:

    1. Which one of the above Rockshox is better?? I mostly do XC, single tracks and easy downhills(no big jumps at all).

    2. What is the difference between the 2 Rockshox models?

    3. I am on the heavier side.(260lb) and 6 ft in height. What PSI should I maintain with respect to the suspension presuming that both the above forks are solo air and need a shock pump??

Help is much appreciated guys. Thanks in advance. Good day

    Cheers
    Raj

Basically they are the same fork. The XC32 is the replacement for the older Tora forks. As far as recommended psi, you will need to add air to the fork until you get approx 20% sag. Actual psi will vary, so just need to experiment really. The forks will have a guide on the back of them, they will give you a good base to start from.
I don't crash, I just have slightly uncontrolled dismounts!

Is the XC32 a coil spring fork or air spring? If it's coil spring, you will almost certainly need an extra firm spring kit for it.

@ joe_bloe: I believe it is a solo air suspension. By this term I am Presuming that a combination of air and spring, right??

Just an air spring, no coil. Solo air systems have a self regulating air based negative spring. All you need to do is fill your fork to the desired psi/sag, and you are set to ride.
