New question here. FS bike: Lower leg service vs Full Rebuild, is the rebuild necessary?

According this this page: https://www.ridefox.com/service.php?m=bike Fox recommends sending your fork/shock in for a complete rebuild every year/125 hours of riding, which includes a teardown of the whole damper and air spring, but they don't have a time interval for a basic lower leg service/oil replacement or basic shock service.

Is this correct? Is a basic service useless? Or is a basic service sufficient, and sending the suspension in for a rebuild isn't actually necessary? I'd like to just do the basic service because I can do it myself, and it's not cheap to send it in.

For context - I bought my 2018 Giant Anthem Advanced Pro 1 about 1 year ago (used), and have ridden it a fair amount, mostly less-technical XC races with the occasional rough ride (i.e. Downieville XC race, etc).

Fox Racing use to have a service website I could not find but here are intervals that list fork lower and rear shock air sleeve intervals : https://www.ridefox.com/fox_tech_cen...Intervals.html

I'm expecting to get shot down for this, but here goes.
Basic service is the important one, that keeps damaging dirt out.

Only do a major service when you get problems.
