Fox rear shock preload adj. ring - how many turns is minimum for safe operation?

    Hi,
I have question regarding installing coil on fox van r rear coil shock.
From the moment when preload adjustment ring touches coil how many turns are minimum for safe operation?
And BTW what is usually maximum? Is there any rule?

    Cheers,
    Bro

Generally another 0.5 to 1 turn of the adjustment ring.
Best is just enough preload to keep it from rattling, or coming loose.

Also, never more than two turns of preload. If you need two turns of preload to get your required sag, go to the next higher spring.

Minimum is just snug on the spring. Maximum depends on the shock and spring, but generally 6 turns is fine.
