    Fox Fork Problem

Hey guys. Fox 34 Talas Fit CTD Fork on a Santa Cruz Bronson. Short answer will be I need service, but just curious about diagnosis. I've got a half inch or more of "play," such that when I hoist the front end over a log, there is a free-floating delay and then a "clunk" as the shock catches or engages. Any thoughts on what's going on here?

I've used Suspension Experts in the past, but I see they've been absorbed by Fox...which hasn't received good reviews on here. Looks like dirtlabs or avalanche is the way to go?

Sounds you've got air in the damper. Any Fox service center should be able to sort you out. Send just the damper in if you do your own lower leg service, then you'll only have to pay for the damper service and not a complete overhaul.

What year? They had a big recall back in 2013 or so on those dampers. Too much plastic and things were falling apart. It could be as simple as air in the damper for sure but that sounds really scary. I would stop riding until you can figure out what is wrong.

There are a lot of shops that offer mail-in service the way that SusExp used to do. Where are you located?

Talas. Probably a 2013 or 2014 (purchased the bike December 2013).
